WSPT Named a Champion
WSPT was named a Champion because of its newly implemented pre-tax transit benefit, promotion of Clean Air NY to the public and distribution of air quality information.
"Every effort has been made to contribute to our community's air quality, from advocating that bicycle parking be installed in our office complex, to encouraging employees to bike to work and allowing them to house their bikes within the office space." WSPT also offers showers and locker rooms to employees who bike to work.
Choosing the health of the Bronx as its cause, WSPT also offers a wellness program to patients, athletes and employees alike. The program includes yoga and Pilates classes, unlimited use of its gym and educational seminars in the areas of health and nutrition. "As an educator in our community, we encourage people to consider the impact their actions make on the environment, the cleanliness of our air in particular."
WSPT also considered its carbon footprint when constructing a new 11,000 square foot facility. Measures were taken to reduce their energy consumption wherever possible. Only 4 out of 22
